God Taking Care, Part 2
You'll want to read Part 1, here, before continuing below.As we continued to drive, I mentioned to Ruth that it may be of benefit to see a Physical Therapist. Have them try the Dix-Hallpike maneuver on her. If she tests positive, try the Epley maneuver. Ruth was interested. I then offered to do this when we arrived at her home.After some hesitation, as she was concerned that her house wasn’t clean enough, she invited me in and wanted me to perform the two maneuvers on her to try to get rid of the vertigo.After taking Ruth through the steps and writing down a couple of things to look up on-line, I gave her a hug, we exchanged numbers and I was on my way.And as I climbed into Jason’s car; I started to unravel the last couple of hours.Ruth’s humility and acceptance of my help. I want to be more like this and not so prideful and resistant to others when they desire to help me and when, quite frankly, I need help.Jason’s devotion and service to me. Not questioning. Loading up our boys and spending a couple of hours following me around town and waiting for me outside Ruth’s home. I want to be more like this, too. With Jason. More giving.God’s graciousness to me. You see, although He asked me to let go of my career and follow after His plan for my life, He hasn’t ignored my heart. He knows I still yearn to help people with my Physical Therapy skills. I learned the Epley and Dix-Hallpike the last month of my 12-year career as a PT. And this is the 2nd time since my resignation that I’ve had the opportunity to use it to help someone. This is not a coincidence, but rather God’s amazing sovereignty in my life.

As I was debriefing with Jason, in tears, I told him that God was still using me as a PT. Maybe not for pay, but that He knows my heart and my desires and those years aren’t for nothing.Do you see the sweetness here? And I could have so easily missed it. And I have so many times. So here are a couple of questions for you: Do you allow others to help you when you are in need? Do you believe that God truly knows your heart and your desires? Do you believe that God is soverign in your life? And that He can provide a way for you to use your gifts? Even when it doesn’t seem possible?And by the way, we finished the paver patio. Sure, it was 10pm and we were wearing head-lamps. The neighbors suspicions of us being different were confirmed. Truman thought it was the coolest thing ever, out at night with lights on our heads. And we finished. With full hearts.
