We are in the midst of this right now. My husband seems to be responding the same way, usually well now. I wonder if it is okay to show him this or if that might be counter productive.

I think many of us were already messed up emotionally from Family of Origin relationships. So, for me, I arrived already hurt, insecure, and fearful, but willing to connect. I’m trying to become grounded after a lifetime of trauma. I try not to be too hard on myself and see how he’s trying, too. If I lose it, I’ll often apologize just to hold myself accountable and show him my heart by staying vulnerable
